Lc0 on single Core - new settings for 1 CPU plus GPU (Tournaments)

by Gerhard, Wednesday, August 15, 2018, 01:31

have tried lc0-windows-blas v 0.16 with a very disappointing result = very slow and approx 2.200 elo with mainnet 552 (15x192)

now i ve found a new setting for lc0-windows-opencl v 0.16 that uses blas as backend - first results with net lc0 10.520 (same as used for TCEC Div3) looks
promising - 14 Points out of 29 games

this config also uses the GPU - which in my case is Nvidia NVS 5400M, which is slightly better as Intel HD Graphics 4000 Mobile. It give Lc0 some more power, even with that 20x256 net. But only one instance of Lc0 can Play, cause the GPU would get to hot.

Under Arena the commando parameter is: "-w latest.txt.gz --backend-opts="blas"

... more to come

Lc0 on single Core - GPU is getting very hot

by Gerhard, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, 09:30 @ Gerhard

after 227 games it is 35,5 per cent - 2.338 elo

have stopped this now !

V 0.17 is underway and I fear my notebook may get hurt in the long run. Better run GPU on PC with some good cooling.

Now holiday is welcome ...
