Chess Engine List

This is a list of all available WB/UCI chess engines. The most recently released engines can always be found at the top of the list! New engines are always added as they are announced/updated. All engines are tracked for updates on a regular basis, usually every day. Other good sources for this information are Leo Dijksman, Guenther Simon, Michael Diosi, and the Czech Engine List.

You can keep track of daily engine updates by reading the update posts at the Computer-Chess Wiki Forum, also known as the CCW Forum.

Latest dates may vary from other sources; New dates are determined according to the following criteria:

  • the latest date shown on an engine download website
  • the dated version number (ie: version 0.0.20031118)
  • the latest date found inside zipped archive files.


All programs are assumed to be 32-bit Windows programs unless otherwise noted. For your convenience, foreign-language sites are translated to English by Google. This can cause confusion, ie: the chess engine named 'Alfil' (a Spanish language name) gets translated to 'Bishop'.
